drawing file not valid
What's going on? All of a sudden AutoCad r14 won't let me open drawing files and I get this message"drawing file is not valid".Help please! R14 is very old. Do you mean 2014? NO.....R14
THANKS IMO, Most of the current drawings in the world cannot be opened by AutoCAD R14.
Ask the person who sent you the drawings convert them to "dwg" in R14 format or "dxf" in R12 format.
Hope this helps. DWG True view might convert down to R14, not sure it goes back that far. Trueview 2013 goes as far back as R14. Had to go look up when R14 was released.Since 97.
I bet the thing runs like Camry!
Back in the day it did.It wasn't all bloated like today's releases. There are some days I wish I was still running it..........

concur,
but with R14 SP1 The real problem with R14 was that it was so good, so reliable, and so effective, that no-one wanted to upgrade.Heck there really wasn't a compelling reason until 2002 or 2004 came out.
Hence two mottos at Adesk -- Never Again an R13!!and Never Again an R14!!
