Rotate Viewport?
We often get CAD Files from Outside Contractors. We only use the 'Floor Plans' of the site.We always draw on a 11x17 Title Block. Because of this, we sometimes need to rotate the area of the building so that it best fits the 11x17.
I have 'played' with the rotate Viewport function in CAD a few times, but it keeps wanting to rotate our QLeaders as well which of course we don't want. So, instead of rotating the Viewport, we Rotate the Entire Building - which I HATE having to do.
I am at a point that I am ready to start 'Playing' with the Rotate Viewport again. So, do any of you know of the setting I need to keep our QLeaders from rotating also?
craigr I'm not sure what you are looking for can be done to an existing drawing.
If this is for a new drawing, instead of rotating the building you can rotate your view of the building using the TWIST option in DVIEW (if it is available in LT). Then rotate your UCS the inverse of the angle you Twisted or alternatively you could use SNAPANG to align you crosshairs to the layout. Now you can draw leaders and text as you normally would. Thanks for the Suggestion, but I've been bit by that blasted LT thing again!!
DVIEW is not available in LT.
Thanks anyways,
craigr Sorry 'bout that.
How about rotating the viewport and working through the viewport using one of the two options I mentioned above to align your cross hairs and annotation to the layout? I am 'on the clock now', I will give a try tomorrow morning and post my results.
Thanks Do you have 'mvsetup' available?
Nope. - 'Unknown Command'
BTW, LT is frustrating sometimes. But, I acknowledge that it IS Significantly Cheaper.
Thanks anyway or ...

maybe 1 copy of the real software to solve these type issues would be worth it, dunno Psst... free trial(s) in a pinch.
