A few simple questions!
HiIs it possible to set the snap to ortho to other angles such as 45 degrees?
Can you use the keyboard arrow keys to fine tune nudge items around, for example with the move command?
Are there any visual rulers or measurement guides / tools in 2008 to help quickly measure items?
Any help, pointers to help videos, etc, would be much appreciated.
Cheers Using both Snap and Grid you could have the precision you are looking for at something other than 0, 90, 180 and 270.
There is no need to "nudge" objects using the keyboard. Accuracy can be obtained using osnaps, direct distance entry and/or increasing the precision of the units and angles that you commonly use.
Measure items using the DIST (or type DI) command. If you already have a line and want to know what length it is you could use the List command to get information on it, the Properties or Quick Properties features of AutoCAD or temporarily dimension it.
Visual guide? Try looking into using Grid.
Try using Polar Tracking. Click the "POLAR" button along the bottom of your screen to activate it. Right click the "POLAR" button and choose settings to set the increment angle. The snapang command might help you in some cases. By using that command you can turn the threadcross in whatever angle you want. The ortho-function will turn with the threadcross. Quick correction, DIST command will give the user a length or distance between points, DISTANCE is a read only sysvar.Autodesker's always making things hard on us users.
