Point, measure, divide

Hi
 
I am having trouble with drawing/ point, measure, divide commands.
 
I am following the promts and have no trouble on inserting points using measure and divide procedures.However when I use the same commands using the block option, I respond to all the prompts in command ending with command saying done, but no blocks appear.Upon further investigation they some, though not all have arrive miles outside my drawing and not along the object that was measured...any ideas?Thanks

It would be worth checking the basepoint for the block and ensure this point is the point that you want to place.

It sounds like the blocks were created with a basepoint of 0,0 instead of picking directly somewhere right on the block itself.Thus, when they are inserted in the measure and divide commands they do not appear where expected.
