Can't Do Multiple Selecti
This morning I can't click more than one line ( for example ) unless I use the shift key.I can draw a box around several items to select them but if I then move to select something else that I need to edit, the first selected item is removed from the selection process. It was working fine yesterday.I can't be sure someone else has messed around with the settings and the person who could have done it is away for the rest of the week.To be honest I am find MEP 2010 a big change to LT2004 so any advice on setting things up similarly to LT would be helpful too. set PICKADD to 1
regarding setting up MEP to be more like LT.... MEP is not only Full AutoCAD, it is also a vertical to AutoCAD so there are major additions to it over LT. It's easier to say if it is stuff that you can/can't change if you tell us specific things that bother you with MEP. Cheers for that. Some of things I am struggling with is scale and fillet. To be honest MEP is bit too much for our simple line drawings which is why I wish the powers that be had left us with LT !!!
Anyway, I used to use the Layout Wizard when finalising the drg for printing, etc. That was so easy being able to set the scale, etc and although I have noted that you can customise the view port when created just wondered if the was an easy way to do it before hand.plus it doesn't seem to set the viewport on the item you want to show on the layout - you have to drag the vport box outwards to `find` the item.My colleague doesn't even scale things in Layout which is a real pain, he just leaves it set to whatever appears which is more than likely going to be NTS.
Also, how do you add icons to the ribbon tab - fillet for example.
And finally, can you have a look at my earlier PAN post
Thanks.
Think I could be on here a lot over the next few weeks!!! I wonder why you have MEP then, since it is much more expensive than LT, and than AutoCAD Vanilla (I assume). But be that as it may, You should at least be able to just have AutoCAD and not MEP - if you go to the start menu, do you find just AutoCAD there? IF you don't use any of the MEP functionality, it is just cumbersome to have that loaded.
To scale stuff in Layout - I don't know if the Wizard is still there, I never used it. But first set up a template for yourself with the papersizes that you use mostly and other settings that you want to always have on your drawings.
When you do a Viewport, double-click inside it and do a ZOOM > Extents - then you'll get what you have drawn in view. While the Viewport is active, you can select what Zoom to have and then lock the viewport so that it's not accidentily moved/zoomed.
I have Fillet on my Ribbon, Home tab > Modify panel but I can't guarantee its the same on MEP. But to change the ribbon to look just how you like it, go into the CUI (type CUI) and take a look at your settings there, there you can change your buttons and panels around.
