titles/legends drawing in pape
hi, i'm stephen,is it possible to draw (in paper space) over the top of viewports,
without the objects disappearing behind the white paper?
it was possible in release 14 and i found it very useful as a means of
aligning views of the model with text in paperspace etc.
a related question, i have found that in paperspace
it is only possible to zoom in until the layout fills the screen -
this seems a very impractical limitation.
is it possible to zoom into the viewport in paperspace?
my apologies if this is a strange introduction,
but i need help!
thanks, stephen Yes, it is possible to draw in paperspace over the top of a viewport. However, I wouldn't recommend it.Objects belong in model space not in paperspace.Paperspace should be used for your titleblock and border. Some companies go as far as to place dimensions and notes in paperspace (now referred to as a layout).Other companies place these two items in model space and make them annotative to better address scaling issues within viewports of different scales.
Zooming into a viewport from paperspace?Do yourself a favor and lock the viewport first otherwise things could get all fouled up. Paperspace should be used for your titleblock and border.
yes, that's what i want to put there,
but they disappear behind the white of the "paper".
any ideas? "...but they disappear behind the white of the paper."
Is that because your title block and border are in color "white"?
Are you sure they disappeared as opposed to being off to one side?Did you do a Zoom - Extents to check? I don’t think they disappearing, it’s because you are using the model space text settings in paper space
Make a new layer say "aaa txt"
Make a new text style "aaa txt"
Set your "aaa txt" style height to the size you require in paper space
Use that layer when entering text in paper space also you can play around with that text size (ED keyboard command) also try sending your viewport to back and bringing the text to front.
