Work planes aren't behavi

I've set up a couple of work planes to make drafting on slanted surfaces easier, but it's not bahaving like I expected. I've made one work plane follow a sloping ceiling so that when I draw a pipe run in plan view it will follow the slope instead of the level - but that's not happening. It just follows the level as normal. If I try it in a section it works with line work, but not with pipes. Maybe I've misunderstood the whole concept?

Please explain "pipe" a 3d solid ?

Yes, 3D element. But could just as well be a duct, cable tray, etc.

Can pipes be hosted to workplanes?

Did you set the workplane as current?

        Why not use sloped pipe?

This won't work and I believe it's because pipes are not workplane based. You can't host one to a workplane. I tried aligning and locking a pipe to one and the lock did not hold when rotating the workplane.

So, it looks like if you want to draw sloped pipe in a plan view you need to draw sloped pipe as you normally would. I think if you are following a ceiling that you are much better off in a section view anyway, unless you know the slope.
