Title Block and model space -
Hi, Can anyone help?I have set up a template to A3 - I have amended the page setup to A3 and I have drawn my title block and saved it as a template.
I am now trying to insert the template onto a drawing I have done.I insert the template into a new layout and then do MVIEW to insert my drawing from model space. The problem I am now encountering is that my drawing in MVIEW will no scale correctly. It should scale as 1:100 at A3 as the drawing does before I insert my title block, but when I insert it, I then have to scale at 1:500
Any ideas where I am going wrong here?
Thanks
Rachel By any chance did you measure your template when you brought it into the new layout? If so what dimensions did you get? I have just measured the template now - it is 10x15 mm on the template drawing!
I find it odd though as the page setup for that template is A3 and it fills the whole page on the template? 1 unit in AutoCAD can represent any dimension you want.Perhaps you "thought" you were drawing at 1 unit = 1mm but apparently you weren't.
Are you a student by any chance? yes, I am a beginner Well if you'd like I can point you to a website where you can download pre-drawn metric templates (A0, A1, A2 and A3).I know they are correctly done because they were created by a well respected and knowledgeable member of this forum by the name of NukeCad.
Well just in case you are interested....

I opened one of the templates. It is very well done. Your A3 border should measure 420x297 mm.
