As I look at some older code written by my predecessors, I see they were big fans of DOSLIB and the (gc) command. I understand what gc does, but where exactly would be a good time or place to run it. With today's machines having gigabytes of memory, I'm not running into any memory shortage problems at all. Is there a time when you should not run gc...can it do more harm than good. |
