I am struggline to specify a three-element array of doubles

If I have say a list of two coords:

((1.0 2.0 0.0) (3.0 4.0 0.0))

How would I make this into a three-element array of doubles?

I think you need variant - three-element array of doubles. This is 3d point representation for ActiveX functions.
