opposite to explode?

what is the command to join lines together?... or click a few lines and turn them into one object?... i tried join but it didnt work for me..

Don't forget about the Wblock command. If you are going like you said create a sink, and decide to use in another drawing. You could use Wblock and save the block a directory to use again.
