shp files ?...

A client has sent a drawing for us to work on, but is only able to provide it as an shp file (along with a version in bak and bmp.)

Is there any way of importing these into AutoCAD 2007 ?

You can import them using autocad map. .shp is an ESRI shape file

You're aware that AutoCAD will create .bak files if set up to do so. AutoCAD can also export a drawing file in .bmp form. These are two of the file types you mention. Now, why anyone would elect to email a drawing in either of these forms is beyond me, as it makes no sense, but would you be willing to try something?

Sorry remark didnt mean to steal your thunder. Anyways if it's something you do not see all the time I would recommend downloading the trail version of arcv2cad. It's not a difficult program to use.

No prob Commando. I was just meandering until someone knowledgeable came along to save the day. Do you know what the deal is with the .bak and .bmp files? I thought perhaps the OP could rename the .bak file to .dwg and try opening it.

Tried editing the file extension... no joy.

pants.... tried arcv2cad and it tells me "the file is not ESRI or it has a corrupt or unknown header"
