Noob Need Help - Can generate

Ok, after being able to do a little something with a lot of help, I am feeling a little adventurous...

I bought a house plan and would like AutoCAD 2010 to automagically produce a bill of materials for the house that I can print out and hand to a building supply store or use to shop around.

Is this even possible? If so, how? Thanks in advance.

Does AutoDesk Architecture have this capability? BOM...I mean.

You could turn to an add-on package such as GlobalCAD Schedule ($225 U.S.) as another option.
