Drawing a dotted line..

I am trying to make my polyline hatched, or dotted to show a difference in a part. When I goto my line weight or type in properties, I only get a straight line, no dotted lines or anything of that sort. Please help me! I am using AutoCAD 2004

You need to load a linetype in order to draw with it... type LINETYPE & click load & select what you require.... then you can change the properties of a line or the linetype that a layer uses.
