Trying to print on 8.5 x 11

I am trying to print out a template I've made through Autocad. Basically it is an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. 1/2" border and a title block along the bottom. When I go to print, it prints out small on the 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. How do I get it to print so that when it comes out, I can put a ruler to it and see that it has the same dimensions as I did when I drew it. I am new to this.

You'll have to set some sort of scale (what is it anyway?).  Example: 1"=1'.

Make sure center the plot is checked off too.

What is plot area set to?  Display, Limits, or Window?

Check your print settings. Make sure the Plot scale is set to 1 = 1 unit.
